Ceramic tableware refers to all artificial industrial products made of inorganic non-metallic minerals such as clay as raw materials. It includes various products made of clay or mixtures containing clay through mixing, forming, and calcining.
Basic Introduction
Ceramic tableware, from the roughest earthenware to the finest fine pottery and porcelain, belongs to its scope. Its main raw materials are silicate minerals (such as clay, feldspar, quartz, etc.) taken from nature. Therefore, it belongs to the category of "silicate industry" together with industries such as glass, cement, enamel, and refractory materials. The firing and application of ceramic tableware has a long history in my country. It has various shapes, colorful colors, cool and smooth feel, and is easy to wash, which is deeply loved by the Chinese people. The production methods of ceramic tableware are divided into three types: overglaze color, underglaze color, and inglaze color. Overglaze colored ceramics are made of pigments made of flower paper and pasted on the glaze surface or directly painted on the surface of the product with pigments, and then fired at low temperature. Because the firing temperature does not reach the melting level of the glaze layer, the flower surface cannot sink into the glaze. When you touch the overglaze colored ceramics with your hand, you can feel that the surface of the pattern has obvious bumps and depressions; the firing temperature of the in-glaze colored ceramics can make the glaze melt, and the pigment can sink into the glaze. After cooling, it is covered with a glaze layer. The surface of the product is smooth and there is no obvious bumps and depressions to the touch; all the colors of underglaze colored ceramics are decorated on the porcelain blank. After glazing, it is fired at high temperature once. The surface of the pattern is covered with a glaze layer, which looks bright and flat and feels smooth.
